PINO TOUR for Globetrotters: The Touring Tandem for Twice around the World
The PINO TOUR turns a cycling trip into a bike tour. And regardless of how long the journey is: on a touring tandem, you will always reach your destination together!
The recumbent tandem as touring bike
To the ends of the earth or into the neighborhood outback? Either way: with the PINO TOUR, the journey is the destination. Thanks to the two different seat heights, both riders enjoy a panoramic view of their surroundings and can easily chat and plan while on the road. If you want to switch places from time to time, both seats can quickly be readjusted to different riders. Even the height and width of the handlebars are adjustable for ensuring an ergonomic sitting position.
Special in so many ways: the front recumbent seat of the PINO TOUR can even provide a safe riding place for children or adults with disabilities. The front rider can either help with the pedaling or, thanks to the freewheel mechanism, simply enjoy the wind in their face and the exhilaration of exploring the world on two wheels.
Lots of room for cargo
Let’s be honest: you may need just as many supplies for a Sunday ride to the lake as you would for a trip around the world. The PINO TOUR has cargo-carrying in its DNA. The lowrider rack in the front can hold one small and one large pannier on each side. This luggage, which is carried under the recumbent seat, has no negative effect on handling and, in fact, even provides for improved traction. Another 88 lbs. (40 kg) of cargo can be carried by the Tubus Logo rear rack, whose lower pannier-mounting bar improves the center of gravity for safer handling.
Compact for transport
The PINO TOUR loves car rides. No joke. It can be made as compact as a 29″ mountain bike, enabling it to fit onto any standard rear-mounted car rack. Thanks to a telescoping frame, the wheelbase can be shortened by sliding the frame sections together. The shortened tandem not only can be used for nimble solo rides, but also is easy to transport and park in tight spaces. This means that journeys with the PINO TOUR do no necessarily have to start at your front door: you can hitch a ride through less cycle-friendly regions or even fly over entire oceans.
Equipped for any route
For covering long distances and managing a variety of challenges, we have equipped the PINO TOUR with a 14-speed Rohloff Speedhub that is compatible with 12mm thru-axle frames. Experienced touring cyclists swear by this gear hub, because it is low maintenance and practically indestructible. Furthermore, its linear gear ratios guarantee a fluid riding experience at all times.
The standard PINO TOUR also comes equipped with a heavy-duty Ursus 80 Jumbo double kickstand with a 176 lb. (80 kilogram) load capacity to ensure that even fully loaded tandems can be safely parked. For those who want an even wider base and a higher load limit, HASE BIKES’ very own Double Kickstand is available as an accessory!
