The Full Fat is happy riding over snow, sand and exploring forest trails. The ICE Full Fat is built on an optimised ICE frame featuring Compact Flat Twist Fold, Rider Positioning System and wide range gearing.
In 2013 Maria Leijerstam became the first person in the world to cycle to the South Pole on the Polar Cycle built by ICE. She set the coast to pole human powered speed record of 10 days 14 hours. This world record still stands today. Traveling over 630km, cycling for up 17hrs a day in -29°C temperatures.

FULL FAT FEATURES
RUGGED PERFORMANCE
A high cruciform and three 26” wheels gives excellent ground clearance over rugged terrain. Large volume, low pressure tyres provide float and traction over soft terrain and bumpy trails. Ideal for going off the beaten track and exploring where other trikes simply dare not ride. The Full Fat is happy riding over snow, sand, forest trails and of course cycling to the South Pole.
The Full Fat is capable of carrying all your equipment for your cycling adventure. Mounting points make it easy to fit ICE custom bike racks to the trike.
DURABLE ELEGANT OPTIMISED FRAMES
Our frames are designed to respond to the forces of the rider and road. Every element of the Full Fat frame has been engineered to complement the other, giving ICE trikes their famed riding characteristics.
Each frame is made from the finest aircraft-grade heat-treated 4130 Chromoly steel and 7005 T6 heat-treated aluminium. Chromoly steel is used in the centre frame cruciform section for the perfect combination of strength, fatigue resistance and vibration absorption. Aluminium is used in the rear frame and front boom because it is strong, lightweight and absorbs dynamic forces while ensuring maximum power transfer.
All frames are powder-coated for a beautiful durable showroom finish, whilst other components are anodised for durability.
C.F.T FOLD
There’s no denying that the Full Fat is a big trike, but it can still be folded. The ICE Compact Flat Twist fold is one of the many innovations that ICE has brought to the recumbent world. The fold is based around a lightweight heat-treated aluminium hinge on the main frame. All ICE trikes (except the VTX) can be folded for transporting in a car and for storing your trike.
Simply remove the seat, fold the handlebars flat, and undo the quick release lever to fold the frame. As the frame folds, the rear wheel pivots to fit flat between the front wheels. Fold your trike in under 30 seconds and it works with ICE accessories. You can even fold the trike with our Shimano STEPS motor system fitted.
NEW SHIMANO STEPS E-ASSIST
The Full Fat is available exclusively with the NEW Shimano STEPS EP8 E-Assist motor system.
The NEW EP8 system is beautifully integrated into the trike. It uses a powerful 250w electric motor, custom-designed ICE specific forged motor housing, 85Nm torque, 630Wh battery, custom display mount and Bluetooth connectivity. The EP8 system is more powerful, lighter in weight, and is more user-controllable than other Shimano STEPS systems. The EP8 system combined with the larger battery gives the Full Fat all the power and torque it needs to get out there and explore the great outdoors.
SEATING OPTIONS
Fitted as standard to the Full Fat, and comprised of a seat frame and cover, the Ergo-Flow seat has been designed to provide optimum back support. The cover features breathable fabrics to maximise airflow, whilst cushioning in the base and side bolsters enhances comfort. The tension in the back can be easily adjusted to suit the rider, and there is a handy weather-sealed pocket for small items such as keys and phones at the top.
The Full Fat is also available with the Ergo-Luxe Short Back seat.
DEPTH OF OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES
The Full Fat is available with a wide range of options, including powerful Shimano STEPS electric-assist systems, gearing options, components and a wide range of ICE racks, storage and accessories. Full Fat trikes are available in several different models, so you can choose your perfect trike to suit your needs and budget.
You can easily carry all the equipment you need. There are several mounting points that make it easy to fit ICE custom bike racks, bags, sidepods and accessories to the trike.
SWEPT DESIGN CRUCIFORM AND SECURE INDEXED HANDLEBAR CLAMPS
The Full Fat features our improved easy access swept cruciforms. Allowing you to get your feet further under you for a more stable entry and exit of the trike, this also creates improved heel clearance for smaller riders.
All models feature an improved handlebar clamping system with super secure indexed clamps to ensure the handlebars easily remain fixed in position at all times and return to your preferred position after folding the trike.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT FULL FAT FOR YOU
REAR SUSPENSION FRAMES
ICE Full Fat trikes are available in rear suspension models. Our suspension system uses elastomers to give you over 100mm of rear wheel travel. Rear Suspension is a tuneable, simple, robust and uses a single pivot suspension system giving you a smooth ride over rough terrain.
SHIMANO STEPS E-ASSIST
The ICE Full Fat is available exclusively with the NEW EP8 motor system. The system uses a powerful 250w electric motor, custom-designed ICE specific forged motor housing, 85Nm torque, 630Wh battery, custom display mount and Bluetooth connectivity. The EP8 system is powerful, lighter in weight and is more user-controllable than the previous Shimano STEPS motor systems.
GEARING
The ICE Full Fat is available with two different gearing types. The Rohloff 14 Speed Hub which has a good gear range, the ability to change gear while not pedalling, low maintenance operation and it is very reliable. Derailleur gears are lighter, cheaper and more efficient than hub gears.
SEATING OPTIONS
The ICE Full Fat is available with two different seat options: The Ergo-Flow seat has been designed to provide optimum back support, it is light weight and breathable which is ideal for warmer climates. Breathable fabrics maximise airflow and cooling. Cushioning in the base and side bolsters further enhances riding comfort. The Ergo-Luxe Short Back seat has a 2″ (50mm), shorter back than the standard Ergo-Luxe seat. This greatly improves the positioning of the neck rest, making it very comfortable for shorter riders. Both seats feature a handy top weather-sealed pocket for storing small items such as keys and phones.
BRAKES
The ICE Full Fat is available with disc brakes. Disc brakes are powerful and are light. They will stop the trike very well in all riding conditions. They are simple to adjust and the brake pads are easy to replace when they become worn. The pads have a life of expectancy 2-5 thousand miles expected depending on riding conditions.
SINGLE HANDED CONTROLS OPTIONS
ICE Trikes as standard come with the braking and gearing controls fitted to both handlebars. Optional single-handed controls help riders who have limited use or no use of one hand or arm to ride. You can specify controls are fitted to either the left or right handlebars. This enables the trike to be safely controlled from either side. Shown here on the Adventure for illustration.
SHORT CRANKS OPTIONS
We also have short crank chainsets available for riders with shorter legs or with knee or hip issues. These are 152mm rather than the more standard 170mm. Short cranks reduce the size of the circle that your foot tracks through the pedal rotation and by doing this they reduce the range of angles that your knees and hips go through.
NECK REST, WRIST RESTS AND ON THE ROAD PACK OPTIONS
The Full Fat is available with optional comfort packs and accessories: The on the road pack includes all you need to get on the road: a Rear mudguard, Shimano XT SPD touring pedals, Mirror and ICE flag. A Neck rest provides extra comfort and support to your neck while riding. Wrist rests are designed to comfortably and stylishly support the rider’s wrists while riding your trike. Ideal for long journeys and riders with limited grip or strength.
