All trikes in the ICE Adventure range are built on an optimised ICE frame featuring Compact Flat Twist Fold, No Brake Steer, Rider Positioning System, and wide-range gearing. ICE’s heritage of innovation and development combine to produce a trike that is beautifully engineered, rides like a dream, and offers practical features for everyday use.
The ICE Adventure features our improved handlebar design which allows for a wider, roomier cockpit, an easy access swept cruciform, an Ergo-Luxe seat for the ultimate in comfort and an updated handlebar clamping system with super secure indexed clamps ensuring easy alignment when unfolding and solid handlebar positioning.
ADVENTURE CHARACTERISTICS
The Adventure is the perfect trike for road and trail use with its high frame and excellent ground clearance. It features indirect steering for natural and intuitive handling from the first ride. Handling remains controlled, predictable and light, even when cornering at speed.
The higher seat position compared to some of our other trikes gives easy access to the trike and a great view when cycling. The seat angle can be easily adjusted to one of four positions. The Adventure is available in Rigid, Rear or Full Suspension models, offering several levels of riding comfort to suit all budgets. You can also choose a 20″ rear wheel frame which is ideal for touring or a 26″ rear wheel frame which is great for higher speed cycling.
DURABLE ELEGANT OPTIMISED FRAMES
Our frames are designed to respond to the forces of the rider and road. Every element of the Adventure frame has been engineered to complement the other, giving ICE trikes their famed riding characteristics.
Each frame is made from the finest aircraft-grade heat-treated 4130 Chromoly steel and 7005 T6 heat-treated aluminium. Chromoly steel is used in the centre frame cruciform section for the perfect combination of strength, fatigue resistance and vibration absorption. Aluminium is used in the rear frame and front boom because it is strong, lightweight and absorbs dynamic forces while ensuring maximum power transfer.
All frames are powder-coated for a beautiful durable showroom finish, whilst other components are anodised for durability.
SWEPT DESIGN CRUCIFORM
The Adventure features our easy access swept cruciform. Allowing you to get your feet further under you for a more stable entry and exit of the trike. We have also slightly raised the seat position by 12mm. This allows for clearer access to remove the seat when folding the trike, this also creates improved heel clearance for smaller riders.
SEATING OPTIONS
The ICE Adventure is available with three different seat options:
The Ergo-Luxe seat is the most comfortable trike seat on the market and the most comfortable you will ever sit on. Beautifully designed to provide the ultimate level of comfort and back support. Breathable fabrics maximise airflow, the tension in the back can be easily adjusted. The Ergo-luxe Short Back seat is also available. This seat has all the features of the standard Ergo-Luxe seat but it has a 2″ (50mm approx), shorter back than the standard Ergo-Luxe seat.
The Ergo-Flow seat has been designed to provide optimum back support, it is lightweight and breathable which is ideal for warmer climates. Breathable fabrics maximise airflow and cooling. Cushioning in the base and side bolsters further enhances riding comfort. All seats feature a handy top weather-sealed pocket for storing small items such as keys and phones.
C.F.T FOLD
The ICE Compact Flat Twist fold is one of the many innovations that ICE has brought to the recumbent world. The fold is based around a lightweight heat-treated aluminium hinge on the main frame. All ICE trikes (except the VTX) can be folded for transporting in a car and for storing your trike.
Simply remove the seat, fold the handlebars flat, and undo the quick release lever to fold the frame. As the frame folds, the rear wheel pivots to fit flat between the front wheels. The C.F.T fold allows the trike to be folded in under 30 seconds and works with ICE accessories. You can even fold the trike with our Shimano STEPS motor system fitted.
SHIMANO STEPS E-ASSIST
The ICE Adventure is available with or without electric assist. Shimano STEPS is available in two E-Assist motor systems:
The NEW EP8 system uses a powerful 250w electric motor, custom-designed ICE specific forged motor housing, 85Nm torque, 630Wh battery, custom display mount and Bluetooth connectivity. The EP8 system is more powerful, lighter in weight and is more user-controllable than the E6100 system.
The E6100 system uses a powerful 250w electric motor, 60Nm torque, 504Wh battery and Bluetooth connectivity. Great for general trike riding as it is the most cost-effective E-Assist system from ICE.
WIDE HANDLEBARS
The Adventure features our improved design handlebars which allow for a wide roomier cockpit. This gives the rider more room while cycling, steering and turning the trike. Shown here in grey as a comparison with the previous Adventure model handlebars.
SECURE INDEXED HANDLEBAR CLAMPS
The Adventure models feature an improved handlebar clamping system with super secure indexed clamps to ensure the handlebars easily remain fixed in position at all times and return to your preferred position after folding the trike.

NEW AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFTING
The NEW optional Enviolo Automatiq hub offers truly stepless fully automatic gear shifting. Forget gears! Simply pedal and go. Set your preferred pedalling speed once and the hub will constantly adjust its internal gear ratio to maintain a steady smooth cadence regardless of the speed or riding conditions you encounter. If you ride uphill it will adjust to a lower gear ratio and if you ride downhill it will do the opposite. It’s very clever! Available on 26″ rear wheel Shimano STEPS trike models.

20″ OR 26″ REAR WHEEL TRIKE
20” rear wheel trikes are great for people who need low gears. Good for touring with heavy loads, great in hilly areas, good on tracks and trails and roads, smaller in overall size, smaller to store and transport and good for riders who have reduced cycling power due to the ability to have lower gears.
26” rear wheel trikes give good high gears ideal for road and trail cycling. They have a good range of tyres available to them from off-road to racing specs. Larger wheels can hold speed better on rough surfaces and are better in flatter areas.
RIGID AND SUSPENSION FRAMES
ICE trikes are available in rigid, rear and full suspension builds. Rigid trikes are light, have good power transfer, are less complex and are cheaper and are ideal for smooth trails and roads.
Our suspension system uses elastomers to give you over 100mm of rear wheel travel and up to 40mm of front suspension travel. Rear Suspension is a tuneable, simple, robust, a single pivot suspension system giving you a smooth ride over rough terrain. Full Suspension reduces the vibration from rough road surfaces and takes the “edge” off larger impacts on the front wheels.

GEARING
The ICE Adventure is available with four different gearing types. The Enviolo Automatic Hub gearing system works with the Shimano STEPS system to give you fully automatic stepless gearing. The Rohloff 14 Speed Hub which gives you a good gear range, the ability to change gear while not pedalling, low maintenance and it is very reliable. The Alfine 8 Hub gearing system has around the same gear range as a standard 9 speed deraillieur. Derailleur gears are lighter, cheaper and more efficient than hub gears. They are also used by those who are looking to ride faster. They are available in different options, to suit the conditions you expect to ride your trike in.

All seats feature a handy top weather-sealed pocket for storing small items such as keys and phones and reflective detailing to keep you visible at night.
SINGLE HANDED CONTROLS OPTIONS
ICE Trikes as standard come with the braking and gearing controls fitted to both handlebars. Optional single-handed controls help riders who have limited use or no use of one hand or arm to ride. You can specify controls are fitted to either the left or right handlebars. This enables the trike to be safely single handed controlled from either side.
SHORT CRANKS OPTIONS
We also have short crank chainsets available for riders with shorter legs or with knee or hip issues. These are 152mm rather than the more standard 170mm. Short cranks reduce the size of the circle that your foot tracks through the pedal rotation and by doing this they reduce the range of angles that your knees and hips go through.
NECK REST, WRIST RESTS AND ON THE ROAD PACK OPTIONS
The Adventure is available with optional comfort packs and accessories: The on the road pack includes all you need to get on the road: a Rear mudguard, Shimano XT SPD touring pedals, Mirror and ICE flag. A Neck rest provides extra comfort and support to your neck while riding. Wrist rests are designed to comfortably and stylishly support the rider’s wrists while riding your trike. Ideal for long journeys and riders with limited grip or strength.
